Harrah’s Resort Southern California has opened Tierra y Mar, a new Baja-inspired restaurant at the Rincon Tribe-owned casino resort in Funner, California, following a $10.7 million renovation of the former Salt & Fin space.
According to the announcement, the new venue spans 7,245 square feet and seats 153 guests. The concept centers on Mexican cuisine and includes a tequila and mezcal bar stocked with more than 35 premium selections, along with a private dining room for up to 14 people.
The opening is part of a broader refresh at the property, which is managed by Caesars Entertainment. Steve Stallings said the project follows the resort’s recent High Limit area renovation and is intended to bring “more new energy to the property.”
For visitors, the practical change is straightforward: Tierra y Mar replaces Salt & Fin in the resort’s dining lineup, and the opening also coincides with the closure of Salt & Fin and ’ritas Cantina. The restaurant will operate seven days a week, serving breakfast, lunch, and dinner on weekends, and lunch and dinner Monday through Friday.
Jill Barrett, senior vice president and general manager of Harrah’s Resort Southern California, said dining is a key part of the guest experience at the property. She described Tierra y Mar as an upscale but lively addition aimed at both special-occasion diners and bar guests.
The restaurant adds another non-gaming amenity at one of Southern California’s larger tribal casino resorts. Harrah’s Resort Southern California has 1,087 rooms and suites, an 11,000-square-foot spa, around 1,500 slot machines, more than 50 table games, nine restaurants, and a 400-foot lazy river, according to the announcement.
What remains unclear from the release is whether Tierra y Mar is aimed primarily at resort guests or broadly at the public, and the announcement did not include pricing details or staffing information.
