Moomoo Review | Up to $1,000 in NVDA Stock
- 0% commissions and minimal fees
- Payment methods: ACH, Instant Transfer, Debit Card, Wire Transfer
With Moomoo prediction markets, you can now trade on positions for various markets, including sports and more.
Below, after spending considerable time on the platform, I’ll examine everything involved with Moomoo trading, including the welcome bonus, ongoing bonuses, other markets available to trade, comparisons with other platforms, and more.
What is Moomoo Trading and how does it work?
Using the Moomoo app or desktop download, you can buy and sell contracts on events across sports, economics, crypto, politics, entertainment, finance, and more.
The way it works is simple: Browse through the available events, pick a side with “Yes,” “No,” or an alternative outcome if it’s available, and correct contacts settle at $1. Each contract will be assigned an amount that reflects the likelihood of an event occurring. For example, if a contract is $0.55, this indicates a 55% chance of that outcome occurring. Thus, you’d trade on that position, and if you were correct, you’d be awarded $1.
With the Moomoo trading app and other prediction markets, you’re trading against other traders as opposed to Moomoo itself, and that’s a key difference between prediction market platforms and online sports betting. Additionally, at an online sportsbook, the sportsbook determines the betting lines, whereas the prices for contracts in prediction markets are determined by participants buying and selling positions.
Also, online sportsbooks are regulated by governing bodies, whereas prediction market platforms are federally regulated by the Commodity Futures Trading Commission (CFTC). The CFTC describes prediction market products as “event contracts,” which are meant to forecast events.
Welcome offer at Moomoo Prediction Markets | 2/5 stars
The welcome bonus for Moomoo trading is intriguing, but it doesn’t really have anything to do with prediction market platforms. Instead, you could earn up to $1,000 in NVIDIA stock and also receive 8.1% APY on uninvested cash.

Moomoo Trading welcome offer: How it works
After signing up for an account on the Moomoo app or desktop, you can get up to $1,000 in NVIDIA (NVDA) stock, plus 8.15% APY on uninvested cash.
Again, this welcome bonus doesn’t really have a whole lot to do with prediction market platforms, but it’s available if you’re interested.
The NVDA stock amount depends on your first deposit, which must be at least $30 to qualify. To get the full $1,000, you’d need to deposit $100,000.
I’d rate this welcome bonus fairly low only because it may only interest a small section of prediction market players, but it’s available if you’re interested.

Moomoo Trading welcome offer: How it compares
Moomoo prediction markets offer a unique welcome bonus that includes NVDA stock, but other prediction market platforms, such as Polymarket or Kalshi, have welcome bonuses directly tied to the platform itself.
For example, at Polymarket, you’d receive a $50 trading bonus after depositing $20 with promo code PLAYCA. At Kalshi, you’d get a $10 bonus with promo code PLAYCA.
Sure, this doesn’t offer $1,000 in NVDA stock, but it’s explicitly aimed at prediction markets, which I believe are more important.
Ongoing promotions and rewards at Moomoo
In addition to the welcome bonus, here are the other promotions and bonuses I was able to find at Moomoo trading:
Referral Bonus
Share your unique sign-up link with a friend, and when they sign up, you’ll unlock a puzzle piece. These include a cash reward or more NVDA stock. In addition, your friend will receive a $25 cash reward.
Transfer Bonus
If you transfer $50,000 into your Moomoo trading account, you’ll get 2 New York Mets suite tickets.
How to sign up at Moomoo
After opening the Moomoo prediction market homepage, I found the “Sign up/Log in” button in the upper right corner.
To sign up, the process asked for my email and a password. From there, I immediately needed to verify my identity, which included my phone number, name, date of birth, Social Security number, employment information, and address.
As the process came to a close, I was then asked what type of account I wanted to open, as Moomoo offers more than just prediction markets. I opted for the “Margin Account,” which included trading using prediction markets.
Sites like Moomoo: How it compares
Moomoo is a unique platform for prediction markets because it also offers other products, including cash management, stocks, derivatives, crypto, and more. That said, below I’ll compare it to other prediction market platforms based on what’s available for this specific product.
| Prediction Market Platform | Welcome Offer | Ongoing Promos | Features | App Ratings |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Moomoo | Up to $1,000 in NVDA Stock and up to 8.1% APY on uninvested cash | Referral bonus, transfer bonus | $0 Commissions | 4.7 (iOS) / 4.4 (Android) |
| Kalshi | $10 Bonus (promo code PLAYCA) | Referral bonus | Many markets | 4.8 (iOS) / 4.8 (Android) |
| Polymarket | Deposit $20, Get $50 Trading Bonus (promo code PLAYCA) | Referral bonus Interest on eligible cash balances | Low fees | 4.6 (iOS) / 4.6 (Android) |
| FanDuel Predicts | $25 Bonus on Signup | N/A | Simple order tickets | 4.8 (iOS) / 4.6 (Android) |
How Moomoo compares: Moomoo has a welcome bonus that’s not exactly catered to the prediction market trader audience, but does have a nice mobile app and enough markets to rival some of its top competitors. As for ongoing promotions, it doesn’t offer anything related to prediction markets either, aside from a sports fan receiving 2 suite tickets to the Mets after transferring in $50,000.
Moomoo app and website experience | 4/5 stars
Moomoo app review (iOS & Android)
If you were wondering something like “Is Moomoo legit?” perhaps knowing that there is a downloadable mobile app on the Apple App Store and Google Play Store will help.
This app includes all Moomoo products, but at the bottom you’ll find a menu for prediction markets. This page is simplistic in design but easy to navigate, and I love that the “Build a combo” option is immediately visible in the middle of the page. This is a unique feature that’s increasingly being added to prediction markets, and Moomoo trading is one of them.
Moomoo desktop site design and navigation

To use Moomoo on desktop, you unfortunately can’t use just a mobile web browser. You have to download the Moomoo desktop app. The download size for the desktop app is 394 MB.
The desktop experience for Moomoo is a bit confusing and doesn’t exist; it appears.
Let me explain.
On the desktop web browser, there’s a tab for prediction markets, but when you attempt to click on one to add to your ticket, it re-routes you to a page to download the Moomoo desktop app.
After I downloaded it (394 MB), it included other Moomoo trading products but not prediction markets.
Thus, I concluded that prediction markets were only available on mobile, but it was a bit frustrating to go through the download process only to find they weren’t available.
Trading markets at Moomoo | 5/5 stars
At Moomoo prediction markets, you’ll find a wide variety of markets to trade on. Here’s a list of every available market:
- Sports

- Science & Tech
- Climate & Weather
- Commodities
I particularly enjoyed the Entertainment section and its subcategories, such as Music, Video Games, Music Streams, Rotten Tomatoes, and more.
Overall, the markets the Moomoo app offers are fantastic and rival any of the top prediction market platforms.
Fees, spreads and liquidity at Moomoo | 4.75/5 stars
Below is a table of information from Moomoo prediction markets on trading fees, spreads, and more.
| Cost/Trading Factor | What I Found | Why It Matters |
|---|---|---|
| Trading Fee | The fees at Moomoo prediction markets include a $0 commission per contract, an exchange fee of $0.01 per contract, a clearing fee of $0 per contract, and a settlement/expiration fee of $0 per contract. | The straightforward fee schedule makes transaction costs relatively low compared to others. |
| Deposit Fee | None | There are no deposit fees |
| Withdrawal Fee | None | There are no withdrawal fees |
| Bid/Ask Spread | Tight on major markets | For major markets, the spread was about $0.01, which showed healthy liquidity and allowed for traders to enter or exit with minimal impact |
| Early cash-out/selling | Yes | You can sell YES/NO contracts any time before an event is determined |
| Liquidity on major markets | Strong | Checked out the World Cup and other major markets, and entering and exiting was easy. |
| Liquidity in niche markets | Above Average | Checked out international companies; the spread was decent at around $0.03, but plenty of contracts were being traded. |
How Moomoo settles markets
Moomoo prediction markets, the official resolution source, are determined by “authoritative agencies,” such as official league data, government releases, or designated event authorities. The typical settlement speed is within 3 hours, but it can be delayed depending on the source. All funds are immediately available, but they become withdrawable and available for securities trading the next day. As for more ambiguous outcomes, the contracts may settle at a non-standard value, such as payouts being down two decimal places.
When you open a market and prepare to trade, you’ll immediately see order page details such as session options and contract rules.
If you want to appeal or dispute an outcome, that option isn’t available. However, Moomoo says that all final decisions are made by the exchange, which is Kalshi.
After checking out the contracts, if you’re a new trader to prediction markets, the rules for trades are clearly written to the point where even a fresh trader could understand.
Banking: Deposits and withdrawals at Moomoo | 4/5 stars
Below I’ll cover all information concerning deposits, withdrawals, and redemptions at Moomoo.
| Method | Deposits | Minimum / Time | Withdrawals | Minimum / Time |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| ACH | ✅ | None / 2-4 business days | ✅ | $0.01 / 1-3 business days |
| Instant Transfer | ✅ | None / within minutes | ❌ | N/A |
| Wire Transfer | ✅ | None / 1-2 business days | ❌ | N/A |
| Debit Card | ✅ | None / within minutes | ❌ | N/A |
The deposit and withdrawal options are fairly limited, but the lack of minimum deposit and withdrawal amounts is appealing.
Does Moomoo send tax forms?
Yes. Moomoo prediction markets will provide a 1099 form for traders who submit a W-9 form. You can see your transaction history on the mobile app following this procedure: Accounts, More, Trading, History. As a reminder, though, we are not tax professionals and strongly encourage you to contact one about further information.
You can export all of your profit and loss data on desktop by going to Accounts, selecting Account, then selecting Positions/Orders/History, and finally clicking Export.
Is Moomoo legal in California?
Moomoo prediction markets are available to traders in California who are eligible U.S. tax-resident clients with a margin account. There are markets available for sports and elections there, too.
Moomoo prediction markets operate through the Kalshi Exchange, which the CFTC regulates.
To use Moomoo prediction markets, you must be 18 or older, possess a margin account with them, and verify your identity with things like valid ID documents, if necessary.
Moomoo prediction markets are compliant with the CFTC thanks to the Kalshi Exchange; there’s account protection with its securities products, encryption and verification (TLS), and token security such as an optional two-factor authentication.
Moomoo customer support | 5/5 stars

Moomoo offers the following customer support options:
- Phone: Available 830am to 430pm ET
- Email: [email protected]
- In-App Feedback: Submit Suggestions
- AI Chatbot
- FAQ
In my experience, the AI chatbot is fantastic. It’s intuitive and understands the unique questions asked. There are pre-selected responses to choose from. This is the most straightforward way to find answers to questions.
Moomoo Reviews | What others are saying
To learn more about Moomoo, I sorted through reviews over on Trustpilot. Since Moomoo is a platform offering more than prediction markets, sorting through the reviews to find some pointed more toward prediction markets was a bit of a task, but I found some great feedback from real traders.

Anthony is a trader who has used Moomoo for other products but is now enjoying prediction markets and said it’s great for experienced traders and beginners alike.
However, this other trader, Trista, did not seem to have as good an experience. They alleged that their markets settled incorrectly. Moomoo did reply, encouraging the player to contact customer support, to which the player claims they did.
This was a fairly recent review, so I’d love to see how this resolved, but this is certainly something to be aware of for traders on Bitcoin markets.
Moomoo FAQs
Yes. Moomoo does have a prediction market that’s operated via the Kalshi Exchange.
Moomoo and Robinhood are very similar platforms, as both offer investment products as well as prediction markets. In terms of which is better, that comes down to which markets are most important to you and which platform offers them.
After examining the Moomoo trading app, I was unable to make a deposit or utilize crypto.
You can contact Moomoo customer support via email, phone, or the AI chatbot. All three methods are helpful, but the AI chatbot is intuitive and easy to use.
No. Moomoo is a broker-dealer and isn’t FDIC-insured. However, it’s a member of FINRA/SIPC, which protects securities customers up to $500,000 and $250,000 for cash claims.
Yes, but be sure to check availability in your specific state. For example, they’re available in California.
Conclusion: What I’d know before trading at Moomoo
Before you begin trading at Moomoo, I’d first tell players to understand that the main source of trading will come from the mobile app and that the desktop doesn’t offer it. It appears to, but after I downloaded it, I couldn’t use it for those purposes.
Generally speaking, though, understand that if you trade on a contract and the opposite outcome happens, you’ll lose your stake. These contract prices can change, and while this can create opportunities for profit, there can also be a risk of losses.
Liquidity is something important to keep in mind, but if you’re interested in trading on more major markets, this shouldn’t be an issue. However, just keep in mind that the more niche you go, the liquidity won’t be the same.
Before making predictions, pay attention to breaking news, injuries (for sports contracts), and more. This information can cause massive swings in contract prices.
That said, for all of those reasons and other reasons mentioned above, I’d recommend trading with Moomoo event contracts. Be sure to use our link when signing up.
