Gemini Prediction Markets Review & Honest User Experience
Better known as a cryptocurrency exchange, the Gemini platform also operates a full prediction market where users can trade event contracts on sports, politics, economics, crypto, and more. I spent time on the platform funding my account, navigating both the app and desktop site, testing liquidity across a range of markets, and placing trades to see how pricing and settlement work in practice. In this review, I’ll break down how the Gemini Exchange works, how it compares to other prediction market sites, and what California traders should know before getting started.

- Wide market selection across sports, crypto, politics, and more
- Highly rated, intuitive app on iOS and Android
- Established platform operating under full CFTC oversight
Gemini is one of the many prediction markets currently available in California. For this Gemini review, I traded outcomes on sports, crypto, politics, and more. What is Gemini, and how does it work?
Gemini, aka Gemini Exchange, is a three-in-one site for predicting, earning, and investing. On its prediction market platform, you can place trades on future events in sports, crypto, commodities, economics, politics, tech, business, weather, and culture. The prediction site also offers event contracts in each of these categories, with Yes/No or Up/Down outcomes.
When you engage in prediction trading, you’re not trading against the house as you would on regular online sports betting sites. Instead, you’re trading against other participants who hold the opposite view, as well as market makers that provide liquidity by quoting prices they’re willing to buy and sell contracts at.
Trading among participants determines event contract prices. Hence, prices can fluctuate based on supply and demand as well as new information entering the market. Event contract prices also depict the implied probability of an event occurring. For instance, in a market such as “Fed decision in June?” If the “Cut 25bps” Yes outcome is trading at 4¢, it implies a 4% probability of that outcome occurring. Likewise, if the No outcome is trading at 99¢, it implies a 99% probability that the event will not occur.
It’s worth noting that displayed probabilities may differ from the current Yes/No prices. This happens because the displayed probabilities are often based on the last executed trade. At the same time, the contract prices may indicate the latest bid and ask quotes available in the order book.
Perhaps most important to note, on Gemini, you can exit your position early to lock in profit or limit losses before the market resolves. If your prediction is correct, and the contract settles in your favor, the contract pays $1 at settlement. However, if the prediction is incorrect, the contract becomes worthless, and you get nothing.
Welcome offer at Gemini | 3.0/5 stars
Gemini launched in late 2025. As of today, the platform does not have a welcome offer for new sign-ups. Nor is there any Gemini promo code to enter when you register.
Gemini welcome offer: How it works
Typically, prediction markets offer an incentive to make an initial trade (for a minimum amount), and new sign-ups receive site credit as a bonus. Gemini doesn’t have that right now, which is why the site gets a low score in that category, at least for now.
Gemini may introduce a welcome offer soon, and when it does, we’ll update this review to let you know. Meanwhile, you’ll have to look elsewhere for a prediction market welcome bonus right now.
Gemini welcome offer: How it compares
Below, I’m giving you an idea of what a few other sites offer for new prediction market users.
| Prediction Market | Welcome Offer | Promo Code (Click to Trade) |
|---|---|---|
| Gemini | None | N/A |
| FanDuel Predicts | Make Any Trade & Get $25 in Predicts Bonus | Click to claim promo |
| Polymarket | Deposit $20, Get $50 Trading Bonus | PLAYCA |
| ProphetX | Trade $10, Get $20 in Trading Bonus | PLAYCA |

Ongoing promotions and rewards at Gemini
During my review, I found that Gemini offers two ongoing promotions for its cryptocurrency exchange. They include a referral program and a cryptocurrency bonus for their credit card holders. To be clear, neither bonus applies to trading predictions on the site.
Referral program
Gemini offers up to $1,500 for traders who refer friends to the site. The bonus gives you $50 when your friend registers through your unique referral link and trades $100 in crypto within their first 30 days. Plus, the invitee also gets $50 after meeting the bonus conditions. Gemini also lets you share your referral link via text, email, social media, or any platform you choose. Note that even though you can refer several friends, the most you can earn from your referrals is $1,500.
Credit card bonus
This bonus gives traders who make purchases with the Gemini Credit Card up to 4% back in crypto with no annual fee. Traders who use the credit card for gas, EV, and transit transactions get the maximum 4% bonus. When you use the credit card for dining, you earn 3%; for groceries, 2%; and for other purchases, 1% back in crypto.
How to sign up at Gemini.com
Signing up at Gemini started with downloading the mobile app and entering my personal details, including my SSN, to complete my registration. I also had to verify my identity by uploading a driver’s license or another government-issued ID. Besides, I like that I could add extra protection to my account during sign-up by enabling fingerprint authentication or using my device pin.

Sites like Gemini: How it compares
Considering that there are other prediction sites available, it helps to put things into perspective and see how Gemini compares against the competition. Here’s a look again at how Gemini stacks up against some of the other top prediction markets in CA.

How Gemini compares
When it comes to offering a welcome bonus and a referral program for prediction trading, Gemini and Crypto.com don’t quite measure up, considering that other top prediction sites offer both. However, Gemini does well in the number of prediction market categories it features. It also enjoys high app ratings on both the Google Play Store and the Apple App Store, unlike Polymarket, whose Android app rating is noticeably lower than its iOS rating.
Gemini app and website experience | 4.4/5 stars
Now, let’s talk about my experience using the Gemini mobile app and the website, and how they compare.
Gemini app review (iOS & Android)
Gemini offers a dedicated mobile app for Android and iOS. All you have to do is visit the Google Play Store or the Apple App Store to download. I found the app easy to use, with the “Predict” feature clearly displayed in the static bottom menu. This makes it simple to access without digging through the cryptocurrency section.
Once you click on “Predict,” you find all the real-world event categories. The app loads quickly over a stable network connection so that you can react to market movements without delay. I also found the side menu useful for adding funds, accessing your profile, using security features, adjusting settings, and accessing the support center.

Gemini desktop site design and navigation
The Gemini desktop site also works well for prediction trading. It loads quickly, and its features are easy to find. On the home page, you’ll find the event categories listed horizontally at the top, including Sports, Crypto, Economics, and Politics. By clicking the side menu, I could access the customer support.
Moreover, the side menu gives access to your account, customer support, statements, and history. Clicking the “Primary” button in the top-left corner lets me manage deposits with ease. Setting up geolocation on the website was also simple. All I had to do was enable location services on my device and grant the browser permission to access my location. Compared to some other sites, Gemini’s process felt more effortless.

All in all, I’d rate the usability of Gemini quite high, no matter which way you access it. The design and functionality of both the app and website are quite similar to what the better prediction markets provide.
Trading markets at Gemini | 4.0/5 stars
Gemini offers all the major prediction market categories available on similar platforms. During my Gemini review, I found categories such as Sports, Economics, Crypto, Weather, Culture, and Politics.
Sports markets
I found eight sports subcategories on Gemini for trading sports contracts. These include popular options such as basketball, baseball, football, golf, soccer, hockey, motorsports, and even chess. The lack of esports event contracts was the only omission here.
Politics market
Gemini features both international and local politics. I found subcategories, including Presidential, Congressional, Local, Courts, and International. The International section features outcomes on Colombia, the UK, Brazil, and France elections, which I find to be a fairly wide selection of global political events.
Weather markets
At the time of my Gemini review, I found weather-event contracts for 10 US cities, all focused on predicting the day’s highest temperature. These options are a bit limited compared to those offered by some sites that offer weather-event contracts on both high and low temperatures, as well as precipitation and other weather-related outcomes.
Crypto markets
Gemini’s crypto event contracts support only five cryptocurrencies: Bitcoin, Ethereum, Solana, XRP, and Zcash. Each subcategory also features short-term crypto prediction contracts, such as 5-minute and 15-minute contracts. Perhaps in the future, Gemini might include other top crypto contracts such as HYPE, Dogecoin, and Binance Coin.
Economics
The Economics market on Gemini provides event contracts on federal decisions and macro indicators. There’s also a separate category for Commodities and Business, which further expands the list of general economics event contracts on the site.
Culture
There was only one culture event contract on Gemini during my review. It was listed under the Awards section and focused on predicting the 2026 Nobel Peace Prize winner. It’d be a welcome development if Gemini included other sections, such as movies, video games, and YouTube, to provide traders with a broader range of options.
Fees, spreads, and liquidity at Gemini | 3.7/5 stars
The table below provides a quick overview of Gemini’s fees for depositing, withdrawing, and trading. It also shows what the bid-ask spread looks like during my review, along with the possibility of early cash-out and liquidity.
| Cost/trading factor | What I found | Why it matters |
|---|---|---|
| Trading fee | Trading fees vary by order type (Taker orders, Maker orders & Partially matched orders) | Impacts profit on every trade |
| Deposit fee | Depends on the payment method. No fees on ACH, Wire Transfer, and crypto | Affects funding cost |
| Withdrawal fee | Depends on the payment method; no fees on ACH; fees apply to USD Wire Transfer, and Dynamic fees apply to crypto withdrawal to an external wallet | Affect cash-out value |
| Bid/ask spread | Moderate | Shows how costly it is to enter or exit |
| Early cash-out/selling | Yes | Lets users exit before settlement |
| Liquidity on major markets | Average | Determines whether orders fill quickly |
| Liquidity on niche markets | Weak | Important for less popular event types |
Liquidity refers to the number of traders on the platform. As with daily fantasy sports (for instance), it is preferable to have more people trading in a given market, as that makes it easier to find trades. It also helps make it more likely that prices accurately reflect the true probability of an event. Gemini isn’t as established as Polymarket or Kalshi, which means those platforms have more traders.
How Gemini settles markets
Under every prediction market, Gemini publishes its official resolution source. During my Gemini trading review, I found that the contract rules are easy for beginners to understand. Before trading, you can view the market rules in the “About” section of each market and access the full details by clicking the link to the “full rules.”
For Gemini settlement, the contract settlement date is usually the same day as the expiration date. Gemini issues payout after the market resolves, or no later than the day after the prediction market closes, unless the outcome is under review. If an event outcome is unclear at the scheduled time, resolution may be postponed until it can be verified through an authoritative source. Plus, if the outcome is disputed, the prediction site may initiate a market review process. Eventually, payouts are determined according to the Rulebook.
Banking: Deposits and withdrawals at Gemini | 4.0/5 stars
Gemini supports both fiat and cryptocurrencies for deposits and withdrawals. See the table below for the methods available and their processing times:
| Deposits | Processing Time | Withdrawals | Processing Time | |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| ACH Transfer | ✅ | 4-5 business days | ✅ | 3-5 business days |
| Wire Transfer | ✅ | 1-3 business days | ✅ | 3-5 business days |
| Debit Card (Visa, Mastercard) | ✅ | 1-2 business days | ❌ | N/A |
| Google / Apple Pay | ✅ | Under 1 hour | ❌ | N/A |
| PayPal | ✅ | 1-5 business days | ❌ | N/A |
| Cryptocurrencies | ✅ | Instantly | ✅ | Under 1 hour |
Note that Gemini usually allows withdrawals only through payment methods that you’ve previously used for deposits. Therefore, choose your deposit method carefully if you already have a preferred withdrawal method in mind.
What is the Gemini Credit Card?
The Gemini Credit Card is a Mastercard World Elite credit card for making purchases. Using this card for eligible purchases lets you earn up to 4% back in Bitcoin or over 50 supported cryptocurrencies. It comes with no annual fee nor foreign transaction fee. The card also features a referral program that gives up to $5,000 in crypto. You get $50 in crypto for each referral and a $250 bonus for every 5th referral.
To be clear, the Gemini credit card isn’t connected to trading event contracts on the Gemini prediction site or app. Likewise, the Gemini wallet is separate from prediction trading and cannot be used for trading event contracts.
Does Gemini send tax forms?
Gemini provides tax documents to traders. To access this, go to your account and click on “Statements and history.” This leads you to a dashboard with tabs for Statement, taxes, and transaction history. Statements are often posted 3-5 business days after the statement cycle. You can easily download each month’s statement through this tab. You can download the tax form and even export your tax gain or loss report. Remember to consult a tax professional for advice regarding your tax obligation.
Is Gemini legal in California?
Yes. Gemini is available to traders in California. To access the site, you have to be at least 18 years old and meet the verification requirements. Verification involves submitting a valid government-issued ID and a biometric face scan. To help protect trader data, Gemini uses SSL encryption and requires two-factor authentication by default for sign-in and withdrawals.
Gemini operates its prediction market under CFTC oversight as a licensed Designated Contract Market. Therefore, it’s authorized to provide event contracts to California traders.
Gemini customer support | 3.7/5 stars
Gemini offers different ways to get customer support on its prediction site, including:
- 24/7 live chat
- FAQ page
When I used the live chat to contact the site for assistance, I realized there was no human agent available. My conversations were limited to the chatbot, which made it difficult to get thorough assistance. However, through the live chat, I was able to send an email. Within 24 hours, I got a response. This time, customer support was helpful and tailored its assistance to my inquiry.
Also, the Gemini FAQ page provides answers to common questions about account management, payment, and Gemini prediction. Simply enter the topic you’re looking for in the search box to find relevant articles. For traders who may want a Gemini support phone number for assistance, there was none available directly on the prediction market at the time of my review.

Gemini.com predictions reviews | What others are saying
Currently, Gemini’s app ratings on the Apple App Store and Google Play Store are 4.8 and 4.0, respectively. When I read the app reviews, most of the feedback focused on the site’s crypto trading. Some users praised the app for ease of use, while others reported occasional performance problems.

Conclusion: What to know before trading at Gemini
Before getting started at Gemini, bear in mind that you can lose all the funds committed to a contract. Also, prices aren’t stable and may fluctuate until the market is resolved. Therefore, selling your position early could lock in a loss even if the outcome later moves in your favor.
Moreover, from my experience, low liquidity markets can be harder to exit, especially if there aren’t enough traders willing to take the other side of your position. Plus, as I explained earlier, markets are influenced by trading activities and new information, which can cause prices to move quickly. Finally, it’s worth reiterating that prediction markets are based on real-world outcomes, but it’s best not to treat them as guaranteed forecasts.
With all these points in mind, go ahead and give Gemini a try. And if a welcome offer gets introduced and a Gemini promo code becomes available, we’ll share it here.
