ClubWPT Gold has changed its Nevada withdrawal language from winding down operations to pausing sweepstakes gameplay, according to a report. The operator previously returned to California after a short hiatus by introducing California Game Days, offering sweepstakes games for nine days each month.
California Game Days followed a hiatus
The California schedule is a precedent for ClubWPT Gold changing its product following an interruption in operations. The operator introduced the limited monthly schedule when it returned to the state.
The outlet also described ClubWPT Gold’s shift away from a traditional dual-currency system toward a poker training platform. Under that model, players purchase poker hand reviews and receive poker chips as an additional perk. Those chips can be used to play poker on the platform and redeemed at a rate of $1 per chip.
Nevada FAQ points to product changes
ClubWPT Gold paused Nevada operations following a statewide crackdown on sweepstakes gaming sites.
Its updated FAQ says the operator is optimistic that product modifications could allow it to resume operations in Nevada. A return remains a possibility rather than an announced launch.
Nevada licenses and oversees real-money gaming. The state’s online poker market is currently limited to WSOP Online.
