Another year has passed without movement on online gambling in California. But that’s not stopping some casinos from finding new avenues to expand into the digital realm.

You can add Casino Pauma to that list.

The casino in Northern San Diego County has partnered with social casino platform Sparket to create an online experience that allows its player’s club members to earn prizes and rewards points while participating in games and contests from their smartphones.

Deal a win-win for Casino Pauma and Sparket

Social casinos like Sparket allow players to legally participate in games, contests, and wagering activities where real-money services are not offered. As California sports betting and online casinos remain sidelined for the foreseeable future, tribal casinos, such as Casino Pauma, are getting creative in how they connect with players starved for iGaming products.

Casino Pauma sits nestled in Pauma Valley, about 30 miles east of Carlsbad. The casino is smaller than others nearby, though plenty sizeable with over 35,000 square feet of gaming space, more than 1,000 slot machines, and 23 table games.

It prides itself on a player-focused experience “where people come first.” Pauma’s new partnership with Sparket taps into that focus while expanding its engagement with iGaming legally and for free. For Sparket, the deal introduces its product to players in the San Diego area, Sparket co-founder Evan Fisher told PlayCA.

“The partnership with Casino Pauma will give Sparket players the opportunity to earn rewards at an exciting location in Southern California. The Pauma team has proven to be innovative thinkers in this space, and their decision to offer this engagement tool for their patrons underscores their commitment to providing a unique experience.”

‘Social Betwork’ eases users into iGaming world

Sparket prides itself on making its product fun and creating social connections.

With the partnership, Casino Pauma will utilize Sparket’s “Social Betwork.” It is designed to engage with any audience and improve its users’ and operators’ experiences, educating players, and offering fun competitions with low stakes at play.

Best of all, the contests are entirely free to participate.

Sparket offers free-to-play wagering competitions for live events that work in cooperation with land-based casinos, rather than compete against them and threaten their business. And it can incorporate more than just sporting events. It allows users to create contests for reality TV, awards shows, and most anything else users can imagine.

Sparket CEO Aaron Basch said the company’s commitment to these principles has increased engagement, especially with women. He said he expected a male-heavy demographic to use Sparket, “but it’s closer to 50/50.”

Sparket has inked partnerships with two Southern California casinos and most recently with Penn Entertainment. In addition to Pauma, it offers a social wagering platform through Soboba Casino and its Soboba app.

Basch told PlayCA that the partnership with Soboba benefits both parties in multiple ways, allowing existing players to access casino games from home and making them more accessible to new players.

“Players want to have a product they can continue to engage with at home or on the go. Having a social casino product provides that experience and keeps players engaged with their favorite brand. As well, newer players may want to start with education on the social side before committing to the real-money gaming aspect. Having the branded product available for new players is crucial to ensuring they know how to play safely and feel comfortable playing for real money in the future.”

Pauma players can win prizes from online play

Fisher said the players will most benefit from its partnership with Casino Pauma.

“Casino Pauma patrons will have the opportunity to win exclusive on-property prizes just for being rewards members and participating in a completely free-to-play contest. This is a way to engage in a social and fun experience with other fans of sports and live events while winning prizes along the way.”

Through its partnership with Sparket, the casino can take its contests to the next level and remain connected with its customers even after they leave the casino.

And while at the casino, players can double down on free rewards while playing their favorite slot machines or table games.

The best part, unlike traditional gambling, players risk nothing to get off the sidelines. It’s truly a win-win-win for Sparket, Casino Pauma and its customers in search of iGaming action.
