Hard Rock Hotel and Casino Sacramento at Fire Mountain will have a perfect spot for football fans this year.

Hard Rock announced that its new sports bar – part of its $2-plus-billion expansion project – will open to the public this fall.

Hard Rock President Mark Birtha envisions the bar becoming a sportsbook one day.

“We look forward to adding the Hard Rock Sports Bar as a new experience to serve Northern California’s sports-loving guests, no matter what athletic event they enjoy watching. Adding this sports bar allows us to be fully equipped to support sports betting once it is introduced in California.”

A sports fan’s paradise

Despite California sports betting still being off-limits, the Hard Rock Sports Bar should be a popular draw.

It will show up to 20 different sporting events at a time on a massive video wall. If a certain game isn’t being broadcast in the moment, a live ticker will run 24/7 across the screens and even in the bar area, keeping fans updated with real-time updates. Sports memorabilia will also be on display for fans to check out during breaks from the action.

The bar will be able to seat up to 82 people. The space will also feature 14 bar-top games while serving beer, cocktails, and offering a cigar lounge. The new sports bar will be located next to the entrance of Hard Rock Live on the north end of the casino’s floor.

Hard Rock Sports Bar will be just the second in US

The Hard Rock Sports Bar will be the first of its kind in the Golden State.

Hard Rock boasts three California properties. The Sacramento location stands as the only one with a casino, though. That will change once Hard Rock Hotel and Casino Tejon opens later this year. Hard Rock also operates a hotel in San Diego.

The only other true sports bar with the Hard Rock branding resides in Florida. The Seminole Hard Rock Hotel and Casino Hollywood provides sports fans with a similar experience to the one planned in Sacramento. A sprawling wall of TVs gives viewers a truly immersive experience. The bar provides food and drink, too. The main difference is the Hollywood sports bar boasts a live blackjack table inside the sports bar.

And, of course, Florida residents can wager on sports.
