The third annual Stars, Stripes & Bikes motorcycle show raised nearly $15,000 for veterans and their families during a July 11 event held at Feather Falls Casino Resort, according to organizers.
American Legion Riders Chapter 95 partnered with the casino resort on the fundraiser, which drew an estimated 200 to 300 motorcycles. Organizers also reported 40 entries in the judged bike show and 29 vendors.
Missy Griffiths, secretary of American Legion Riders Chapter 95 and Area 1 vice director, credited the venue’s support for helping the event grow.
> “Feather Falls Casino Resort believed in us and trusted us from the beginning, and this event could not have grown over the past three years without their support,” Griffiths said.
Funds will support veterans programs in several Northern California communities
According to organizers, the money raised will stay focused on programs for veterans and their families in Oroville, Gridley, Chico, Paradise and Durham.
American Legion Riders Chapter 95 operates through American Legion Post 95 and supports efforts including memorial rides honoring fallen veterans, holiday meal assistance for veterans in need and a December Santa event for local children.
Griffiths said the event’s turnout reflected broad support from riders, vendors and volunteers.
> “We are grateful to every vendor, rider, volunteer and supporter who showed up. Together, we raised nearly $15,000 that will remain focused on helping local veterans and their families,” Griffiths said.
Riders traveled hundreds of miles to attend
Organizers said some participants traveled more than 400 miles for the event. Chapters from Healdsburg and Norco were among those represented.
For Feather Falls Casino Resort, the event was a community-facing partnership rather than a gaming-related announcement. Still, it highlights the resort’s role as a venue for regional charity events tied to Northern California communities.
