The NFL and Aristocrat Gaming have collaborated on a new slot machine game that will be featured in eight states, including California.
This new NFL Super Bowl Jackpots slot machine game launched on Aug. 31. The NFL hopes gamblers will be steered toward the league while Aristocrat hopes to gain more players through the NFL’s vast number of fans.
The new slot machines are now available in select casinos in Arizona, California, Connecticut, Florida, Massachusetts, Nevada, Oklahoma and Oregon.
California’s massive gaming market a good fit for Aristocrat games
California players who want to play the NFL Super Bowl Jackpots slots will have to visit select casinos. California online casinos are still illegal, as is sports betting, online or retail.
The casinos in California have generated nearly $3.45 billion in taxes, which makes the state’s casino market one of the largest in the country. That is the market Aristocrat hopes to continue to tap into with its newest offering.
Players of the NFL Super Bowl Jackpots slot machine can play with one of their favorite California teams or any of the 32 teams throughout the league. During play, players can watch video highlights of their favorite team and other features.
Aristocrat jazzed over partnership with the NFL
Aristocrat Senior Vice President of Commercial Strategy John Hanlin told The Nevada Independent that players should feel like they are at a football game.
“[The slot machine] is really about the spectacle of being in the stadium and watching sports, so we’re really focused on making sure you feel like you’re in the game or playing the game.”
To accomplish this goal, Aristocrat turned to designer Joe Kaminkow, a member of the American Gaming Association’s Gaming Hall of Fame.
Hanlin is excited about pairing the NFL and Aristocrat.
“If you overlay a map of the NFL teams and large casino markets, it’s pretty identical, other than a few locations. There’s been a lot of partnerships between casinos and NFL teams that create a nice relationship between us who provide great games to the casinos and the NFL. The NFL is one of the biggest brands in the world. The game has a ton of energy, so we’re launching in a big way.”
Aristocrat Chief Executive Officer Hector Fernandez credits both the NFL and Aristocrat Gaming for the collaboration.
“After nearly two years of collaboration with the NFL and NFL Players Association, we finally get to see these game-changing machines in action. A tremendous thank you to our teams around the world for their collective brilliance to make today possible.”
NFL hopes games create more fans
According to the NFL Senior Vice President of Consumer Products Joe Ruggiero, this group effort is meant to bring new fans to the NFL by appealing to patrons of casinos.
“The unveiling of the first NFL-themed slot machines represents an opportunity to bring the league closer to our fans in a new area.”
Aristocrat is planning to release five more NFL-based games by early 2024. It also hopes the potential success of NFL Super Bowl Jackpots slot machine could lead Aristocrat to collaborate with other professional sports leagues, according to Hanlin,
“We’re open to all opportunities in the space. We’ve been focused on this journey with the NFL and this portfolio of games. We want to reach all types of slot players on the floor and really serve all the NFL fans that choose to play slot machines.”
Where can Californians find Super Bowl Jackpots slot machines?
For now, just three casinos in California feature the NFL Super Bowl Jackpots slot machine. More will be added in the future.
Morongo Casino Resort Spa in Cabazon is one of the select casinos to feature the new NFL slot machine game. Morongo sits about 90 minutes from Los Angeles near the San Bernardino National Forest.
The second casino is Yaamava Resort Casino at San Manuel, which is in Highland. It is just a short drive from Morongo and about an hour from Los Angeles.
The last casino in California featuring the NFL Super Bowl Jackpots slot machines is Pechanga Resort and Casino. For those who want to patron that establishment, it is in Temecula.
