Intuit Dome, new home of the LA Clippers now has Pechanga Casino as founding partner

The Pechanga Indian reservation in Temecula will host an open practice later this year for the Los Angeles Clippers. That exclusive event is part of an expanded partnership between the NBA team and Pechanga Resort Casino.

On Thursday, Pechanga Resort Casino announced it has become a founding Partner of the Clippers new arena, Intuit Dome. The casino will also serve as the team’s exclusive tribal casino. As a result, Pechanga Resort Casino will have its signage in the new Intuit Dome, which will open in August, well in time for the upcoming 2024-25 basketball season.

The Pechanga Resort Casino is one of the premier California casinos, providing a superb gaming experience a short drive from the LA area.

The Clippers will hold an open practice at the Pechanga Indian Reservation on Oct. 8, just two weeks before the opening of the NBA season. Last season, the Clippers finished first in the Pacific Division and played in the Western Conference playoffs. The practice will welcome the public to see the best professional basketball players in the world, possibly including Kawhi Leonard, Paul George, and James Harden.

The tribe and the NBA team have partnered on other projects that have assisted California communities. In June, the Clippers and Pechanga Band of Indians donated laptops and educational supplies to the Career Center at Ortega High School in Lake Elsinore.

“We are excited to partner and support the Clippers as they open their new home, Intuit Dome,” said Pechanga Development Corporation President Ken Perez. “This partnership expands the Pechanga brand and presence in Southern California sports and entertainment while making our communities better and stronger.”

Pechanga Resort Casino is 88 miles southeast of Los Angeles, and less than 60 miles north of San Diego. The gaming floor is a massive 200,000-square-foot space that has 5,500 slot machines, and more than 150 table games. The resort casino complex also has restaurants, drink spots, and live entertainment. The resort offers 1,100 rooms or guest suites, a 25,000-square-foot spa, and an impressive swimming pool the size of five football fields.

The 18,000-seat Intuit Dome opens this fall

Construction on Intuit Dome is being finalized in Inglewood. It will serve as the home of the Clippers and a sports and entertainment venue with a capacity of 18,000.

This will mark the first time the Clippers have had a dedicated home arena since 1984. Previously, they shared an arena with the Lakers and, before that, a space with the Anaheim Ducks of the NHL.
