The LA Wildcats turned in the worst performance of XFL Week 1.

The 37-17 loss to the Houston Roughnecks was so bad, in fact, that the Wildcats fired defensive coordinator Pepper Johnson.

“We recognize that there are issues we need to address for the 2020 season,” LA coach Winston Moss said of Johnson’s firing. “While these decisions are difficult, we have given this significant thought. We are here to put the best possible product on the field for our fans. We thank Pepper for his contributions to the Wildcats and we are looking forward to our home opener this weekend.”

Win number 1 on the line – XFL odds Wildcats Renegades

The Wildcats will see another 0-1 squad on Sunday in Carson.

The Dallas Renegades come into Week 2 fresh off a 15-9 slugfest of a loss to the St. Louis BattleHawks. Dallas had entered the XFL season with the lowest odds to win the league’s title.

Here are the spreads for Wildcats versus Renegades from some of the top legal sportsbooks in the country.

DraftKings

Renegades -4 (-110) vs. Wildcats +4 (-110)

FanDuel

Renegades -3.5 (-110) vs. Wildcats +3.5 (-110)

888 Sport

Renegades -4 (-110) vs. Wildcats +4 (-110)

Bet365

Renegades -4.5 (-105) vs. Wildcats +4.5 (-115)

Moneyline and total for Wildcats versus Renegades

All of the aforementioned sportsbooks have the game total set at 48.5 points.

That actually seems a bit high considering neither team cracked the 20-point mark in Week 1.

The moneyline for Wildcats versus Renegades is set at Renegades -186 and Wildcats +150 at 888 Sport.

Things look at bit different at FanDuel with the Renegades checking in at -170 and the Wildcats set at +145.

So you’re saying there’s a chance?

As poor a showing as the Wildcats had in Week 1 they are not the biggest longshot to win the XFL title.

The Seattle Dragons are being pegged as the league’s worst team right now as they are +1400 to win it all at DraftKings Sportsbook.

The Wildcats check in at +1200 to grab the championship.
