GAN tapped to power WynnBet's future online sportsbook platforms

Technology provider GAN Limited has teamed up with WynnBET to provide future online sports betting platforms for the major sportsbook. GAN Sports’ North American base is in Irvine.

GAN will provide platform for WynnBET retail sportsbook in Massachusetts

WynnBET was one of the sportsbooks supporting Proposition 27, the sports betting ballot measure that would have allowed online sports betting in California. Voters overwhelmingly rejected the measure last November.

GAN forged the deal in late December with WynnBET, the sports betting subsidiary of Wynn Resorts operated by Wynn Interactive.

The conditions of the contract were kept confidential. GAN Sports’ first task will be to provide the sports betting platform for the retail launch of the WynnBET Sportsbook at Encore Boston Harbor in Massachusetts. It will also power future online operations there and in other states where WynnBET has a license.

The hope is that pairing GAN’s state-of-the-art sportsbook technology with WynnBET’s business acumen will propel both companies to new heights.

GAN seeking license to power sportsbook at Wynn Las Vegas

According to Rob Lekites, GAN VP of North American sports, the new deal solidifies the company’s strong alliance with WynnBET in the state of Michigan, where it already provides services to WynnBET. He said it also showcases GAN’s aptitude to provide a highly differentiated and flexible sportsbook, while at the same time securing its position as one of the country’s top suppliers of iGaming space.

“The combination of GAN’s cutting-edge sportsbook technology with WynnBET’s highly experienced and successful leadership team provides tremendous growth opportunities for both of our organizations.”

In an email, Robert Shores, GAN VP of investor relations and capital markets, reiterated the deal’s national exclusivity and that “additional markets” would be revealed in a timely manner. GAN Sports is still awaiting its license from Nevada gaming regulators. Once GAN secures the license, it’ll be the supplier of Wynn sports betting in Nevada, which currently includes just one retail sportsbook at Wynn Las Vegas

GAN Sports’ entry into the US market has gone well. The company now hopes to carry its positive momentum forward as it tries to strike up new partner launches in the coming quarters. Last October, GAN launched its sportsbook software at the Island View Casino in Gulfport, MS. Its technology and platform are in 20 kiosks at the venue.

California-based companies following similar path as GAN

Various companies in California have taken a similar route to GAN Sports to provide technology services to sportsbooks. For instance, in 2021, FaZa Clan, the professional esports and entertainment organization headquartered in Los Angeles, cut a deal with DraftKings

FaZE Clan, which over the years has positioned itself as a gaming, lifestyle and also a media brand, is now the official sports betting, internet gambling, daily fantasy and free-to-play partner of the Boston-based sportsbook.

Similarly, KeyStar Corp, the mobile sports betting operator and peer-to-peer betting exchange, announced in October that it was buying the San Francisco-headquartered ZenSports and Ultimate Gamer

GAN is growing nationally and internationally

GAN has emerged as a leading business-to-business supplier of internet gambling software-as-a-service solutions predominantly to the land-based casino industry in the US. It also has a reputation as a market-leading business-to-consumer operator of proprietary online sports betting technology internationally. It enjoys market leadership positions in a number of European and Latin American countries.

As part of its B2B services, GAN created a proprietary internet gambling enterprise software system called GameSTACK. It’s licensed to land-based US casino operators as a turnkey technology solution for regulated real money internet gambling. It includes internet gaming, internet sports betting and also social casino gaming branded as “Simulated Gaming.”

WynnBET has operations in several states

WynnBET has numerous pending license applications in the process. It plans to expand operations beyond the nine states it’s already available in.

  • Arizona
  • Colorado
  • Indiana
  • Louisiana
  • Michigan
  • New Jersey
  • New York
  • Tennessee
  • Virginia

WynnBET is an authorized gaming operator of NASCAR, MLB and the NBA. It’s also a marketing partner of many NFL teams.

In 2022, the Las Vegas-based company was a finalist for the American Gambling Awards’ Online Casino of the Year honor.
