NorCal Casinos Show Holiday Spirit With Promotions

The holiday season is upon us, and Californians have plenty of ways to celebrate.

Some of those involve special promotions and events at Northern California casinos. If you’re an avid casino-goer in the northern part of the Golden State, here are a few things you won’t want to miss.

Fill your stockings (and help those in need) at Sky River

Located just outside of Sacramento, Sky River Casino is one of Northern California’s newest casinos. It opened ahead of schedule earlier this year, and its first holiday season is a full one.

From 5 p.m. Fridays through 5 p.m. Saturdays through Christmas Eve, Sky River Rewards members can earn prizes. Those who earn 500 tier credits and swipe cards at promotional kiosks are eligible. Grand prizes of $500 gift cards will be awarded every hour.

In addition, Sky River’s Wreaths of Hope program is partnering with local charities. The casino has pledged to donate a total of $10,000, spread across 10 non-profit organizations. Members can vote for their favorite charity once per day at kiosks located around the property.

Cash and tailgate sets up for grabs at Cache Creek

Cache Creek Casino Resort started its Gift of Giving promotion in early-November, and it runs through the end of the year. Cache Club members receive one free entry each week, plus additional entries for every 250 points accrued during the promotional period.

Hourly drawings are held from 2-7 p.m. each Sunday through Christmas Day, and winners select game pieces that determine how many prizes they’ll get to pick. The prize selection includes bonus play and cash, with values ranging from $250 to $2,000.

Three winners each day participate in the Grand Prize drawing at 8 p.m., and one of them wins the “Gift of Giving.” In this case, that means they get to pick another Cache Club member to win a share of the Grand Prize. That’s valued at $5,000, $7,500, or $10,000.

Those in attendance on Wednesdays this December can also come away with San Francisco 49ers merchandise. Cache Club members who earn 2,000 points from 6 a.m. through 11:59 p.m. on those days are eligible. The set includes a lawn chair, a pop-up table, a tote bag and towels.

Santa’s Swag Bag open at Hard Rock

Hard Rock Hotel and Casino Sacramento at Fire Mountain is also rewarding members this month. Those who earn 175 tier credits on Sundays or Mondays in December can choose one of 10 gifts at a giveaway being run in the Kumi Event Center.

Those who visit weekly will be eligible to win one of four $500 Best Buy gift cards. Those drawings will be held hourly between 7-10 p.m. on Thursday, Dec. 29.

Don’t want to cook? Thunder Valley’s got you covered

Thunder Valley Resort’s Thunder Cafe is preparing holiday meals on a to-go basis all month long. Orders are being taken through Thursday, Dec. 22, and will be available for pickup through Sunday, Dec. 25.

Full turkey and prime rib dinners serve between eight and 10 people and come with plenty of sides. In addition to the meat, the meals include stuffing, mashed potatoes, yams, carrots, cranberry sauce and either apple or pumpkin pie.

Turkey dinners cost $325, while prime rib dinners cost $450. Those ordering should do so at least 48 hours ahead of their desired pickup times.
